On April 4, 1967, Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at New York's Riverside Church, denouncing the Vietnam War and the "triple evils" of war, racism, and materialism.

In conjunction with the 40th anniversary of this speech, FTD will lead the American Friends Service Committee in applying the "triple evils" themes to the group's work on peacebuilding, social justice, and economic justice.

As part of this effort, the AFSC has posted related materials (including audio and text of the speech) at www.afsc.org/mlk
